USGEB Meeting 2007 Basel

I spend the last 2 days at the USGEB meeting here in Basel in the Messezentrum. This was the first official meeting I was participating, as I was also present with my poster. All in all it was quite nice, at the beginning I worried that there might be too much computational biology stuff but this  turned not out to be the case. KAffi and Gipfeli were allright too, but there was no lunch (except some sandwiches at 8 CHF a piece) so you basically had to go out to grab a meal. Thing was that there was also the poster session during the same time, so we were standing in front of our posters with the sandwich wating for interestend people to ask questions. There weren't too many, at least for my poster, as most people were out for lunch. Well anywho, I think my poster was not so bad from a design point of view, at east compared to some worst case scenarios where you could count the pixels and the excel exported graphs. There were some very interesting talks so it wasby no means a waste of time. Looking forward to the next one...

cedI didn't really dare to talk to those comemrcial guys. In general I have no problems talking to people, but something prevented me. Obviously I'm not the business guy. A good message for myself.

Congratulions Charel for your nice poster! Especially the term "addicted cells" made me smile. I enjoyed tuesday morning but in the end I was happy to be back home in the Biocenter :-)
