The 1st of September, after nearly a hour long convincing session by Max and Fabienne, around midnight, I decided that I was going to Meschers-sur-Gironde the next day for a week. 9 friends of mine rented a house there and they had an additional space that opened up in the last minute. So the next day around 2 in the afternoon, Jim and his superb 1.4 liter Ford Escort Break turned up and off we were... Just over 8 hours of driving to the French Atlantic coast.

Meschers-sur-Gironde is a small town, about an hour from Bordeaux. It has amazing beaches, but sadly for our surfers, the week we were here that was no wind and no waves.  The journey was long and we were late. This looks like a clear 159 to me ;-) (N'est-ce pas Jim)  The amazing view from the back of our house. The weather was amazing all the time, not a single drop of rain!  Some Tai-Chi at half six every morning.  And an 8 km run at the amazing beach right after that.  My efforts with ''F Majeur'' didn't get very far.  A part of the crew, from left to right: Jim, Max (hidden), Max, Fabienne, Lisa and Adrien.  Max our magician  Jules is trying to flirt over the net... Nope she can't see you... (But my glasses do look good)  That's what we were admiring every night from the terrace. How romantic ...  Max our surfer is fixing the vital equipment  Chill-out time!!!  Jim is in the air... In the thunder of the sea ...  I don't even remember standing on the surfboard so I guess Charles managed to photograph the split second between trying to stand up and falling again.  Yep that must have been it.
