I wanna see them pixels

I'm a fan of good movies. That much is true. I wouldn't consider myself as being an early adopter, jumping on every new high-tech train that passes by. Still, I consider setting up in my mind some sort of home theater for when I move back to Basel this summer. HD that is. But with so much choice, it's difficult to make the right combination. Price is of course one big argument. Nevertheless, so far, I came up with the following:

 

  • For the TV a Pioneer Plasma: PDP-428XD, thats a 42 inch one
  • a blueray player (HD-DVD is dead anyway), so probably a PS3 (hey if I buy a good player, why not let SONY pay for half of it)
  • for sound: Onkyo HT-S990THX 7.1 THX Home Theater Entertainment System, or something similar

But we'll see...
